What Causes Hair Fall?

Question: Hello, I am 24 years old and been in bangalore from last 18 months. I have a problem of hair fall. The hair fall problem started when I came to bangalore. Kindly suggest me the proper cure for it (medicine, if any ) Regards, XXXX

I usually prescribe minoxidil lotion twice daily to be applied on scalp and tablet androanagen daily in such cases. This gives good response in three moths. Hello Dr. XXXXXXX Thanks for your quick response. As you suggested I can use Minoxidil lotion and androanagen tablet. Should I use both the medications in parallel or any one of them ? Are there any side effects in using any of them ? What is the dosage of androanagen tablet ? Should I take any food supplement like protien powder ? would you like to suggest any thing to be included in my daily diet that could help to stop hair fall (like milk) ? Would you like to suggest any particular shampoo or hair oil ? Thanks, XXXX

Brief Answer: use both the medications. Detailed Answer: Hello You need to use both the medications together. Take one tablet of androanagen daily for at least 3 months. Don't worry there are no side effects. Yes you can take protein supplement. In addition take vitamin B complex supplements. Take iron cintaining diet like jaggery and green leafy vegetable. Hello Dr. XXXXXXX Thanks for replying. Should I apply Minoxidil lotion on entire scalp or the front and cetral scalp or only on part of scalp fom where hair are gone? If i am applying Minoxidil lotion twice daily can I also apply hair oil? How can I contact you after 3 months if problem continues? can I consult you personally at your medical center. Minoxidil lotion is available in three categories 2% 5% 10%. Which one should I use. ThankYou
