Question: I HAVE a feeding tube which fell out of my stomach. The Doctor in ER replaced a new tube, but I feel uncomfortable about it.Concerned whether the Jevity (formula) is getting into my stomach or just inside my body? Doctor xrayed after inserting the new tube and said it was okay. How can I tell if the Jevity in going where it is suppose to go? My stomach is growling a lot.

Brief Answer:
Looks as if no complications.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Female/82 - feeding tube fell out - ER Doctor replaced and X-rayed - said OK - stomach is growling a lot - feel uncomfortable - concerned whether Jevity is going into stomach or just inside body - not sen anyone since the new tube was inserted ...
I an understand your concerns.
even if the tube is in stomach or lower esophagus or even duodenum, it will get the Formula Jevity into the intestines and thence into the body as before.
Sine there is no history of coughing, respiratory problems or so so, we can always say that it is in proper place.
So if there are no symptoms related to respiratory system, please do not be worried and continue with the scheduled feeding program.

Please let me know if you have any other symptoms.
Take care.
With regards.

Brief Answer:
COPD

Detailed Answer:
It is called COPD - this giving the chronic cough for years is not connected to the replacement of tube. The presence of the tube in respiratory system can cause tremendous distress.
Please carry on as advised above.
