What Causes Gradual Curling Of Fingers With Age?
Details below
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The gradual curling of fingers with age can be due to rheumatoid arthritis or Dupuytren's contracture. Regular physiotherapy, exercises and control of rheumatoid disease with medicines can decrease the further progression of the problem. It is a gradually progressive contracture that causes a disability.
Splinting the affected fingers can also help. Injections of Botulinum toxin are also being tried to decrease the muscle spasm in the area.
You can consult your orthopedician and get the proper splinting done.
I hope this answers your query.
