Question: Have uti, urgency to urinate. Just started, have had these symptoms before and it was uti.

Yes, urgency is a symptom of UTIs.

It can occur on its own or with other symptoms such a such as frequency passing urine, discomfort on urination, abdominal pain, fever.

An in office urine analysis would be able to confirm if an infection is present.

Treatment: (1) using a lot of water is a good idea, it would help to flush the urinary tract (urethra, bladder, kidneys, ureters)

(2)cranberry juice or products may help as well

(3)a course of antibiotics for 5 to 7 days usually
