Brief Answer:
Possible urinary tract infection, prostate issues or diabetes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Was there a catheter inserted during your stay at the hospital? Do you have any burning while urinating, blood in urine, fever, lower abdominal pain?

Most common reason of frequent urinating are urinary tract infection, diabetes, prostate enlargement.
Inguinal hernia repair surgery is performed in the area where spermatic cord is located. So it can cause inflammation of testis or spermatic cord. But it does not impact urinary tract directly. The only way it can cause urinary tract or prostate is inserting catheter to urethra.
But it is possible that your symptom is not related to recent surgery.
Urinary tract infection gives also burning while urinating, fever, lower abdominal pain.
Prostate problems give weak urine stream.

I suggest you to start with regular tests. Consult your doctor and have urine analysis, abdominal ultrasound, blood work, glucose level, PSA level checked.
If nothing will be found, consult urologist as a next step.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
