Mirena coil contains progesterone which has side effects like breast engorgement and tenderness, irregular spotting and bleeding and irregular menstruation. However hot flashes is rare side effect.
i would suggest you to consult your OBGYN consultant if the symptoms are very troublesome otherwise mild symptoms like these are common with Mirena IUD and you need not worry.
