Brief Answer: don't worry Detailed Answer: Hello and welcome to health care magic, I am Dr Sriram Nathan, an ENT surgeon and I will try to help you out with your problem. The onset of fever with cough and lump in the throat is usually nothing to be concerned about. So at the offset let me assure you that your son does not have to worry much. All you need to do is take the proper ENT consult and Medications which will make sure the symptoms go away in a week or so. Take plenty of voice rest and only warm fluids during the time. A routine treatment would involve any combination of antibiotics, painkillers and anti histamine. Your doctor will know about this. Now coming to the low counts and Hb..... Though I need the values but I will assume that it's only mild. If that's the case then needto just cure the infection and the blood levels will improve. If it's too less then you need to consult a hematologist and investigate further. The treatment will also include supplements either oral or by parenteral routes. Hope this helps and if you do have any more doubt get back to me and I will be glad to help you. The lump if it persists beyond a fortnight has to be investigated by either needle cytology, scan and by endoscopy. But this is only if he does not get better which is rare. Best wishes Regards Dr Sriram Nathan

Brief Answer: his blood test report is normal Detailed Answer: Hello again, You are most welcome. I have seen the uploaded report. It is essentially normal with Hemoglobin at 10.6 and red blood cells at 4.3. Although this is slightly on the lower limit of normal, it is nothing to be concerned or worried about. Improve his nutrition with high iron foods like spinach, dates, green leafy vegetables, raisins, etc. Regards Dr Sriram Nathan
