What Causes Fever, Dry Cough And Tremendous Headache?
Question: I have fever from last 4 days. Fever is only during the evening time post 7 P.M. I also have dry cough and tremendous headache. I got the complete blood count done and my platlet are adequate. I have been taking Crocin 500 , XXXXXXX syrup and Carbol steam inhalation. Please advise

I read your question and i understand your concern. Fever for 4 days mostly in the evening with dry cough and headache and supportive care of decongestants, pain killers and steam inhalation although needs further work up. You commented on adequate platelets, which rules out for common febrile thrombocytopenic conditions like malaria etc out of the picture. You did not mention leukocyte count. Focus of infection. What if any sputum cultures were taken as we know in XXXXXXX , respiratory infection are widespread and needs to be narrowed down. Fever at night, should be correlated with any other symptom . Currently the picture and treatment favours some upper respiratory tract infection with like sinuses involvement and needs supportive management which you are already on but a little further work up to rule out other possibilities is no harm.
