What Causes Fever, Dry Cough And Sore Throat Despite Having Negative HIV Antibody Test?
Question: Hello doc, doc i had an unprotected sexual encounter my hiv antibody 1 and 2 and western blot on 60 and 77th day are negative and 85 th day and 91th day only hiv antibody1,2 are negative.... Now from 85 day m expereincing sever dry cough and irritation in throat... Doc also some website of india and naco and many other sources on internet say hiv test are not conclusive uptill 6 month.... Pls help doc...

Fever, dry cough and sore throat are very common ailment for everybody. Without HIV any one can have such symptoms as we continuously exposed to pollutants in various form from air, water and food source.
In a normal individual the window period pf HIV never exceed 3 months. So your test is very much conclusive and you are free fro both HIV 1 and 2. As your sex partner was not having HIV when you had your exposure, you are also free from HIV in spite of unprotected exposure. Your symptoms are not at all related to HIV. Forget about HIV.
Window period might get extended in people who are on immuno-suppressive drugs like steroids, anti- cancer drugs or Cyclosporins (organ recipients) up to six months. Not with everybody. So ignore HIV and get treated for sore throat. You will become alright.

Doc so i can consider my self as hiv negative ....is there any chance of late antibodies in my case ...m a normal guy like other.....
