Question: I have been feeling a sensation at the back of my mouth (not in my throat but rather above my upper palate or behind my throat) when I breath in . It is like a sort of pressure or painful sensitivity that I get whether I am breathing through my nose or through my mouth. Can this be cancer ? Should I be seen by an ENT .?

Brief Answer:
This may not be cancer.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

The above symptoms doesn't sugeestive of cancer.

If its just a pain or sensation of pressure, that could be due to congestion also. Even gastric reflux could cause these kind of symptoms and with the above symptoms its highly unlikely to be cancer.

I recommend the following.

1) Avoid taking tea or coffee in empty stomach.

2) Proton pump inhibitors like tablet rabeprazole for 7 days.

3) Oral decongestant like tablet levocetrizine with phenylephrine.

4) Analgesic like tablet paracetamol for pain relief.

5) You can consult a general physician for clinical examination.

You will be fine.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help.

Wish you a good health and speedy recovery.
