What Causes Fatigue, Sinus Drainage, Headache, Nausea And Blurred Vision?

default
Posted on Tue, 16 Aug 2016
Question: For the last six years I have struggled with weird uncomfortable episodes. Usually they happen in the afternoon either before I eat or after. They go in this progression pretty much:
Fatigue, sinus drainage and tight headaches, naseua, runny nose, burning eyes, blurred vision, and then sore joints. Sometimes I get the twinkling lights of a silent migraine. This experience lasts the rest of the day. They happen about 5 days out of 7.
I have no allergies. I am not diabetic. I have been tested for thyroid and am normal. My physician has completed the usual battery of tests and all are within normal range. Going gluten free changes nothing. I can make these symptoms worse by eating foods high in sugar. I am always thirsty and I drink about a gallon of water a day if that is important. My sed rate is normal. I have no auto immune disorders.
My only medications are Flonase and sometimes ibuprophen. Basically I am a strong happy healthy person who is struggling to figure out how to deal with flu like symptoms each afternoon. Sometimes the fatigues are rough. They do feel like flu and they can limit my activity level. I'm told that I do not have fibromyalgia because I don't have muscle pain and the joint pain I get from these episodes goes away by morning. The thing that baffles my physicians is that these episodes do not exist throughout the day but generally begin in the afternoon.
I'd love to hear any ideas you have and any suggestions would be welcomed as well.
Thank you in advance!

Brief Answer:
Possible inflammation of sinuses?Require CT scan

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam

I have worked through your query in detail and can understand your concern.

The upper respiratory symptoms in your case require a careful assessment of your sinuses.

This requires a CT scan of the para-nasal sinuses.

This test can accurately diagnose the pathology that is responsible for your symptoms.

Further management is largely based on the test results.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
