What Causes Eye Twitching After A Head Injury?

Question: My son collided with another kid at school hitting heads. The other student complained if starry vision My son did not have any head injury symptoms except the PA said his eye was twitching a little. The PA said no school for 3days. No tv for 3 days. He has no headache. No nausea. He ate normal and acts normal. What dies the eye twitching mean

Brief Answer: Hi and welcome to HCM. Detailed Answer: Thanks for the query. Eye twitching is usualy sign of head injury and brain concussion. In most cases this is not indicating serious head trauma but it is necessary to be close to your son in next 24 hours and watch for any new sign such as vomiting more than 2 times, loss of sensation in arms and kegs, fainting, becoming too sleepy or too agitated, blurred vision. If you notice some of these you should visit doctor and do head scan. Otherwise,you should follow PAs instruction since it is standard treatment of head hitting. He should avoid intensive lights, noise and smoky areas. he should rest as much as possible and avoid reading and screen watching. If you notice eye twitching even 3 days after then you should visit pediatric neurolgoist for further treatment. Wish you good health. Regards
