Question: My blood pressure is usually normal. But yesterday I got really disoriented and almost fainted. I took a look at my blood pressure and it was 160/101, pulse 104. Later in the evening it got up to 180/111 pulse 111. I have had two times today when I got so sweaty I soaked my shirt and I was very nauseous. I'm having sever pain in my back under my rib cage. My head hurts really bad, but it comes and goes. I suffer with migraines and am being seen by a neurologist. This pain feel nothing like a migraine. What do you suggest?

Brief Answer:
needs BP reduction . evaluation required

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I went through the query and understood your concern.

Looking at your symptoms and history the cause for all your symptoms is raised blood pressure (hypertension). This needs to be treated as soon as possible to prevent any further problem. The vomiting, head ache, disorientation, blurring of vision all due to secondary effect of hypertension.

So the first priority is to reduce BP and then monitor the same. Next you should get evaluated for the cause of the above symptoms. Get done renal function test, feasting lipid profile, blood glucose levels, ECG and echocardiogram. Restriction of salt and daily exercises is required.

For reducing BP better is to consult doctor who will monitor your BP by giving antihypertensive drugs. The calcium channel blockers like amlodepine or sub lingual nifedepine (need monitoring to prevent hypotension) will help now.

I hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask for any further queries. I will be glad to answer them.
Wish you faster recovery and good health.

Regards
