Question: I can't get in to see my urologist until XXXXXXX or July but I just had a 24 hr urine test done where my protein, potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium and cretinin levels are more than double the normal level. I have a long history of bladder and kidney infections plus average 2-3 stones per week. Do I need to get in sooner than June/July? I've also been tired, a little off, and found a lump around where the kidney would be

Brief Answer:
Yes, go in earlier than planned!

Detailed Answer:
HI and thanks for finally getting the results to me.

I have reviewed the information fully and the concentration of salts in your urine is concerning to me. I will suggest that you increase your fluid intake significantly. I would have said you were somewhat dehydrated but for the fact that you have a urine volume of 2500ml. The high concentration of salts make the likelihood of stones very high. I am not sure if your doctor has been seeing similarly high numbers before. If these numbers are not too different from previous ones, then there might be a chance that you stick to your appointment. If not, I suggest you go in earlier.

I have a strong feeling that there is a genetic predisposition to this condition. Talk to a nephrologist and let's see if they have more details about this.

I hope this helps. I wish you well and await more updates from you.
