Brief Answer:
SGPT and SGOT can be controlled with healthy diet, please consult doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
Thanks for writing in to us.

SGOT and SGPT are liver enzymes found in blood. The normal range of SGOT is 5 to 40 units per liter and SGPT is 7 to 56 units per liter.

SGOT and SGPT can be increased in liver and muscle conditions.

It is important that you get your detailed clinical evaluation done by your doctor and get required blood tests done for liver function. You can also get an ultrasound scan abdomen done for the liver.

The SGOT and SGPT levels can also increase due to gastrointestinal infections, alcohol consumption and common diseases affecting the liver.

In the absence of any serious disease condition, in most people, SGOT and SGPT can be brought back to normal by following well balanced nutritious low fat diet for 1 to 2 months. If you take alcohol regularly then please take measures to control it.

Please follow your doctors orders and repeat SGPT and SGOT and levels after 1 to 2 months.

Hope your query is answered.
