I will try to take pic and upload it. I just noticed it this evening. I just got off cycle lady week Friday..and I had dome chaffing ..i guess due to sanitary napkin..i usually wear two...but I put Vaseline on the chaffing and that healed up well...
I turned 40 and my hormones have gone completely haywire....i am wondering if this has played a part in this...i am really scared.

Brief Answer:
Most likely it is a fungal infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Nice to hear from you all again.

With your description it can be most likely due to fungal infection.

Follow my advice here-

Keep the infected area clean and dry
- Maintain hygiene
- Apply 1% clotrimazole ointment on patch for 4-6 weeks along with 1% hydrocortisone ointment.
- If itching is there use cetrizine tablet.
- For oral antifungal ( fluconazole) you have to confer with your treating physician because it is a prescription drug.

If symptoms do not resolve in few weeks you should consult your treating physician and get yourself tested.

Yes, hormonal changes can affect the problem and stress also increases your symptoms, please do not take stress.

Hope it is useful, feel free to discuss more.

Good luck.
Regards
Dr.Richa

Brief Answer:
You can apply ointment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You are most welcome, I feel happy if my advice is useful to you.

You can apply ointment only for a few weeks to ensure the results because the antifungal drug is a prescription drug, so maybe you require doctor prescription for the same.

The doses of antifungal ( fluconazole) tablet is 150 mg once weekly for 4-6 weeks.

Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more.

If you want to close the discussion Kindly accept my answer and write a review.

Good luck.
