Brief Answer: Elixir Neogadine syrup, Chest x-ray, sputum test Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for your query. As you are a smoker and cough didn't decrease with medication and your appetite is reduced it is necessary to exclude some underlying disease like tuberculosis especially and smoke induced bronchial changes. You need to consult a pulmonologist soon and go for the following test - 1. Chest x-ray (PA view) 2. Spirometry 3. Sputum for acid fast bacilli 4. Serum absolute eosinophil count 5. Sputum eosinophil count if possible 6. Hb, TC, DC, ESR For appetite to increase you symptomatically may take Elixir Neogadine syrup two table spoon full twice daily 1/2 hour before food for 1 month. If possible please quit smoking. If you have further queries you may ask me. If you are happy with my answer you can write a review for me. God bless you.
