Question: I tried to get out of bed and felt as if I was spinning. After lying down I felt less dizzy but still unsure about standing still somewhat dizzy. .

After going through the brief history posted by you, I do feel, you could be suffering from either BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo) or cervical vertigo.

Certain tests such as Hallpike-dix maneuver and X-ray of cervical spine is required to identify the actual cause of the problem.
