Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

The symptoms you have mentioned are suggestive of dysentery(loose stool mixed with blood and mucus). The dysentery is usually caused by bacterial infection.

The mainstay of management is antibiotic with ORS. Bacterim contains sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim which has a very good coverage for the bacteria causing dysentery.Your pediatrician has prescribed Bacterim in adequate dosage.
Z n D contains zinc which helps in early recovery from the diarrhea by rapid healing of inner layer of intestine.Nutrolin B contains probiotics which maintains the normal gut bacteria which usually lost during the illness.

It may take 3-4 days for the antibiotic to act and to clear the blood or mucus from stool.
So I would like to continue the same medication and monitor for dehydration like decreased urinary output, poor oral acceptance.
If you notice any signs of dehydration or persistence/worsening of condition consult your pediatrician as antibiotic may need to be upgraded.
I shall be glad to answer if you have any more query.
Wish your child speedy recovery
Regards
