Brief Answer: AS BELOW Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for writing to us with your health concern. Apart from pregnancy , there can be other reasons for a delayed period. You have not mentioned how long back was your delivery. WHile breastfeeding, periods can be irregular. Also, stress, anxiety, tensions, weight gain, late nights, erratic eating habits, ingestion of birth control medications , smoking, drinking etc can also delay your cycles. Imbalance of thyroid hormones or polycystic ovarian syndrome are other leading causes. First of all, please let me know how long back you have given birth, also if you are currently lactating your baby. Mild hormonal imbalances can lead to delayed cycles, taking progesterone tablets for withdrawal will help in this case. Please consult a gynecologist, and have detailed evaluation - per vaginum and per speculum internal check up. Also, hormonal estimation - FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin, OGTT, DHEAS, free testosterone, and a pelvic transvaginal ultrasound scan. All the best Please feel free to discuss further.
