Question: Hi. I am 35 years old, and on no type of birth control. I am 18 days late for my period. I am bloated, constipated and crampy, my breast are full and very sore and I am having clear/white discharge from my nipples. I am also have clear vaginal discharge. I have taken several home pregnancy tests and they have came back negative. I went to a dr and they did a urine test which was negative, and a pelvic exam. They did not do a blood test or ultrasound. I do have endometriosis.

Brief Answer:
Not due to pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
At 18 days late period, the urine pregnancy test would have come positive if you had been pregnant. The urine pregnancy test is 97% accurate. You can be assured that pregnancy isn't a factor here.
The other reasons of delayed periods may be hormonal imbalance, emotional upset, anxiety, stress, or other medical conditions that affect the ovaries, uterus, hypothalamus, or pituitary gland. Hypothyroidism, post pill amennorhea , polycystic ovarian syndrome or less frequently a pituitary tumor causing high prolactin levels or a hypothalamic disease are other causes that may be the cause here as pregnancy is ruled out.
The non specific symptoms that you are having can be due to hormonal changes related to delayed periods. You can ask your gynecologist for proper hormonal pills to get a withdrawal bleeding.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
