What Causes Delay In Period?

Question: Hi.. It's been 28 days since I got my period.. Umm I know it's quite common but to me, my normal cycle will be around 20 to 24 days I ll get my period. I'm 22 years old, engaged. I and my fiancé got chance to spend a couple of days together where we did few foreplays and did not have any intercourse. Since am a virgin I'm little worried about my irregularities for the first time ever. Out of scareness I even checked the chance of pregnancy at home itself in the 24th day, the result was negative. I tried even drinking papaya juice n stuffs which I knew but nothing worked out. Few say it's because the first time we were together and it's all first time for me, some hormonal changes would have happened. I'm not getting the clarity.. Kindly help me.
