What Causes Darkening Of Lips?

Question: I have noticed that I keep pushing my tongue towards my bottom teeth and today when I pulled down my bottom lip on the inside there is a darker spot than the rest of the lip near the bottom of my front teeth facing the gums. It doesn't hurt and has no bumps on it just darker in color. Is this normal?

There can be various reasons for darkening of lips.But in your case it is restricted to small part & occured due to lip biting or lip sucking.
It can be healed by applying :-
- lip balm- that moisturizes lips
- lemon juice - contains bleaching agents
- drinking plenty of water
- avoid tea or coffee

Avoid lip sucking or lip biting.

If problem still persists consult oral surgeon.
