What Causes Dark Red Spots On Face Post Facial Treatment?

Question: Today, I had a photo facial with a lumenis laser at laser spa.
I now have dark red/purple spots all over my face. My face is horrible looking!
I was told I would have very little down time, it is very damaged looking.
I am sure it is not supposed to be this way, please let me know what I can do.

Hi,

Thanks for your query.

The rashes you got on the face are the signs of allergic reaction to the facial you got done. You may have to apply a cream containing combination of Hydrocortisone and Tretinoin. This will help to reduce the inflammation and prevent scar formation. Apply this cream in the night times only

Do not go out in the sun, do apply sunscreen lotion with a minimum SPF of 20 if you go out. Also, take Tab Benadryl once in night for 5 days in the night.

Thank you, pharmacist says no hydrocortisone creams with tretinoin, so will just use hydrocortisone. The laser hit hard on sun damage, etc freckles, brown spots. so was red instantly, is that the same as rash reaction?

Yes, it is an rash like reaction. You can apply Hydrocortisone cream for now. Once the lesion inflammation reduce an they turn white you can then apply tretinoin or adapalene to prevent scars or marks.
