Brief Answer:
Anti-
dandruff shampoo & lotions; de-stress
Detailed Answer:
Hi there XXXXXXX
Dandruff is one pesky problem & stress plays a major role in this. I presume there have been more stressors of late be it financial, physical, emotional, sexual or any other type.
Shampooing twice a week is fine. Leave the anti-dandruff shampoo i recommend for at least 15-20 mts contact time on a wet
scalp (not hair).
To begin with, start with a milder shampoo eg. 2%
ketoconazole (
Nizoral) or Danclear plus scalp shampoo. If in two weeks, this does not help much, shift to a
coal tar preparation applied the same way as suggested. I prefer the galderma product Ionax-T or Ionil-T scalp shampoo.
If in 1 mth, it is all clear, we are on the right track & all is well. If not, we need to go in for some stronger remedies & this will need the supervision of a
dermatologist nearest you.
In addition to the shampoo, if the itch is severe, you may want to try & use 2 lotions..mix 1:1 & apply together as drps on your scalp at bedtime & leave it on overnight.
Candid lotion & Clop-S lotion are the 2 i have in mind. After 1 week, stop the Clop-S & continue the Candid lotion applied at bedtime for a further week.
With this topical regime, am certain you will have good results. Do take a holiday if you can & this may help ease the stress & get the dandruff under control faster!
Good Luck & Godspeed!
