What Causes Cyst Like Sore On Penis?

default
Posted on Sat, 17 Oct 2015
Question: My husband has a sore on his penis, it originally looked like a little cyst not red or anything but definitely had something white inside. He began to squeeze it & a white colored almost paste like came out, similar to a thick or hard white head. Well now its a red sore thsts constantly oozing & smells terrible almost like a bad yeast infection. Im afraid he may have got my yeast infection or maybe he just keeps giving some type of fungus to me?

I emailed a picture to you. I actually put some monistat on it last night & it looked better today but there is clearly still an issue.
Thank you & I look forward to hearing from you again.
This is after he squeezed it for 3 days, I believe he wouldn't have a sore if had not messed with it?

Brief Answer:
My apologies for the delayed response; penile yeast infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.

I am sorry for the delayed response.

Thank you so much for the image and information. From the image it does not appear to resemble to presentation of any STD, and looks more to me like irritated inflamed region probably due to a fungal infection, which in fact was your first suspicion. Based on that, following is my advise:

+One tablet of fluconazole 150 mg to be taken once
+Continue the application of monistat 3 times a day over a clean and dried region
+Keep the region clean and dry at all times as yeast thrives in most and wet surroundings
+Change inner wear at least twice a day, especially if the region where you are staying is hot and humid resulting in the accumulation of sweat in the groin region
+Avoid sexual intercourse for at least 2 weeks
+Completely avoid masturbation for a month or more
+Even after recovery, make sure he washes his genitalia after sexual contact or masturbation and avoids leaving the region wet for long durations of time

Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.

Is the fluconazole over the counter?
Im sorry I should get all my questions together @ one time. Can you tell me how he might have got a fungal infection as the bumps have been there for some time they just had got bigger & he thought he needed to get the stuff inside out. In otherwords I dont believe he got yeast from me as the sore was not open until recently?

Brief Answer:
Ways of getting the infection; should be available OTC hopefully

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.

Sores are uncommon with yeast infections, and from the attached picture it did not look like this could be from an STD, but I would still prefer it if you could get an STD-panel conducted for him.

As for the yeast infection, the most common and likely causes for male penile yeast infections are:

+Sleeping or not cleaning the penis after sexual intercourse
+Leaving the genitalia wet or damp by not cleaning it after sexual intercourse or masturbating
+Being unhygienic and not cleaning the genitalia frequent enough
+Leaving the genitalia moist after a hot summer day
+Leaving the genitalia unclean or moist after receiving oral intercourse
and many other such reasons that can result in the leaving the genitalia moist and resulting in the thriving of yeast in the region.

I too don't believe he got the yeast infection from you as it is unlikely. I hope you understood the circumstances of how exactly the infection could have taken place, but until the diagnosis is clear please do avoid sexual intercourse with your husband. Please also do not hesitate to keep in touch with me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Fluconazole should be available OTC in many countries, I am not sure if it is in your country or not, you will have to check ma'am. You need only 1 tablet, thats all.

Best wishes.
