Brief Answer:
Seems to be reflux esophagitis.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having cricolharyngeal spasm. I would like to ask you few more details.

Is there any regurgitation of partially digested food ?
Is your spasms are associated with difficulty in swallowing ?

Kindly get back to me with the details.

Based on your clinical details, it appears to be reflux esophagitis.

I suggest you to follow these measures to over come your spasms.

1. Consult an ent surgeon, get laryngoscopy (to see lesions of deeper throat, voice box), manometey (esophageal motility disorders). Depending on the findings, treatment can be started.

2. start ppi inhibitor (Prilosec) twice daily, half an hour before food and tab. domperidone (domstol) once daily, pro kinetic for prevention of excessive motility of esophagus.

Mean time, stop smoking and alcohol (if you are with these habits), keep 3 hours interval between dinner and sleep, keep head elevation (support the head with extra pillows during sleep), avoid consuming spicy, junk foods and carbonated water containing breverages, weight reduction ( if you are obese), regular walk, stress free life style.

Kindly discuss with your treating doctor, , as they are prescribed medications, needs to be taken under medical supervision.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.

No regurgitation and slight uneasiness to swallow saliva...but no problem with food or drinks...but when I suddenly shout loud while watching a match or something...I get this irritation at the same spot for like half an hour..

Brief Answer:
laryngitis (voice misuse).

Detailed Answer:

Hello again,

Thanks for considering my answer and for your follow up.

Shouting during a match is an integral part of the experience but too much of this puts a strain on the vocal cords can lead to laryngitis.

Kindly go ahead for the instructions and investigations, what I have already mentioned.

All the best. take care.
