What Causes Cramps Near The Waist Line?

Question: My husband, 62 has had some major bouts with cramping on his sides, mainly the waist area and above. Somtimes he has them at night and it keeps him from sleeping. He can get them when he is driving and he has to turn around to see behind him. they are quite intense and one nevers knows when they will strike.

Hello Mam,
Most likely what you describe could be a musculoskeletal problem. He could be having muscle strain or fatigue or maybe also something in the abdomen.
It is extremely difficult to comment upon without examining him.
Does he have any other diseases that he is taking medicines for?
Has he had any surgeries in the past?
Do let me know this information to help you further.
I suggest you see your GP or family Doctor who can examine you and advise accordingly. You might need a few XRays of the spine and maybe also an Ultrasound of the abdomen. Get those done and do let us know so that we can advice you further. I think you need not worry but still get him evaluated.
For severe pain, I usually advice Tab Ibuprofen or Diclofenac sodium along with Tab Pantoprazole to prevent drug induced Gastritis.
