Brief answer....No.
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
Although this drug has various side effects but only if used in higher doses as is required in treatment of various types of cancers.
Since the quantity of drug used in diseases of eye is very small and since it is used inside the eye only,it has only few local side effects in eyes and virtually no systemic side effects.
In some cases a increase in heart rate was seen but it is reported very rarely.
Local eye side effects include infection, bleeding, inflammation, increase in internal eye pressure etc but again they are quite uncommon.
This drug doesn't seem to be the cause of respiratory tract infection in your husband.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
