Question: my son who is 8 years old for the past week has had mild coughing, tummy ache and body ache (legs), yesterday he began to complain that the bottom of his feet were hurting and that he had difficulty walking and standing, when we checked the bottom of his feet we discovered little red spots, this morning there were some more of the spots on his back (not many) it looks more like some type of rash, he also said that the body aches have begun to subside, the red spots on the bottom of his feet have changed appearance, last night they red, flat and about the diameter of a BB, now they they look a little larger, still flat, but look as if they are fading.

Brief Answer:
Please upload an image.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through the details and understand your concern. Most often such symptoms are due to viral infections and antibiotics are ineffective in such cases. Irrespective of use of antibiotics, it usually spontaneously resolves in 5-7 days. Often, viral infections are associated with rashes. I would request you to upload an image of the rashes. It will make it easier to interpret. Based on that I would guide you further.

I would await your response.

Regards

o.k. I looked on the internet but really could not find an exact match, there many. my daughter came home from school today and complained of the same red spots on the bottom of her feet. they are small and resemble acne but they are semi flat, might it be a fungus? I have applied anti fungal cream and hydro-cortisone, what do you thin,. they complain of itching and a tingling sensation, what do you think?

Brief Answer:
You need to click a photo and upload it

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.

I did not provide any image. Rather I insisted you to click a shot of your own rashes and upload the image file using the facility on the upper right of this page. I did not insist you to search in the internet because you are unlikely to have the medical expertise required to distinguish between various types of rashes.

I would not have recommended you this combination for application. Do not use a combination of hydrocortisone for more than a week. Although it might make it appear that things are healing rapidly, it will also make it come back quickly.
