What Causes Cough Along With Headache?

Question: hi sir,
i am having severe wet cough with head ache . Daily in the night i am getting fever from past 3 days. Could you please suggest me some medicines and if needed any test to be done.

I've gone through your query and understand your concern,

From your description, these symptoms mostly pointing towards a respiratory tract infections (mostly viral in nature, however, probably complicated by an impending bacterial infection in this scenario)...

Please correct me here, but as far as I'm seeing, you've had a similar history of fever, cold, cough, and throat pain just about 2 weeks ago for which already taken antibiotics and other supportive medications...

Try to avoid cold drinks, dairy products(including yogurt also), sour foods for the time being...take ample rest...also please stay away from any direct exposure of A/C ducts as well as over-crowded places for the time being...

Betadine gargle will be helpful for the cough/throat irritations. Do the gargling three times daily for next 4-5 days.. also put a pinch of salt in lukewarm water and gargle twice daily as an alternative fashion for next few days...Since there are fever and headache, take Tab PARACETAMOL 650mg Stat dose (for now) followed by thrice daily(after some food)...

Taking steam inhalation three to four times a day will be beneficial additionally...drink a lot of water to remain well hydrated throughout the day...all these will help in reducing the ongoing symptoms however a proper clinical check-up is needed in this scenario also...

Since the fever and cough are still persisting, I'd suggest visiting a nearby Internal Medicine specialist for a thorough check-up as you may need another course/escalation of antibiotics therapy also...

However, this is the only name displaying and since you've mentioned as "I'm having......" thanks for clarifying the same...

Please note, most of the advice remains the same(except for the antibiotics course) just follow as already mentioned earlier (and observe how he stays in the next 2 days)...

If despite all these, symptoms still persisting/any further worsening, recurrence of fever, if any rash over any parts of the body, then I'd strongly suggest getting him clinically evaluated by any Internal medicine specialist or at any nearby healthcare facility and management accordingly...
