default
Posted on Tue, 3 Jan 2017
Question: Couldn't get in to see my Dr. didn't want to go to emergency..but may have to.
Still have the loud noise in my head..no fever or headache involved. JUST NOISE.
I haven't been able to sleep very well so sort of shakey. My daughter got a blood pressure & oxygen meter..I just took my finger reading it is 97SP02 & 91 Heart beat.
Can't do BP..My daughter won't be home for an hour or so.. went outside and sat and thought good thoughts didn't work.
I don't feel bad it is just the NOISE>>it is driving crazy..
I stopped taking atenolol inMay of this year because my Dr at the time said I didn't need it any more..When I ran out he would not renew prescription..
I had been taking it since , I think it was some where in the late 1990s.
My blood pressure has been 120-147..WHAT IS GOING ON..!!
PLEASE HELP! Not a question left out the amount of atenolol 25mg

Brief Answer:
Possible inner ear dysfunction

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir

I can certainly understand your concern.

As per your symptoms, the possibility of an inner ear dysfunction is high.

This can be secondary to blood pressure fluctuations. But the findings require confirmation.

You possibly seem to experience tinnitus( perception of noise in the ear)

Sleep disturbances can also contribute to sensation of tinnitus.

Therefore, it's advisable. consult an Otolaryngologist to thoroughly evaluate further for inner ear dysfunction.

Sudden cessation of intake of antihypertensive medications can also precipitate vertigo.

It's therefore important to assess for a comprehensive cardiovascular work up.

I advise a B/L carotid Doppler before proceeding further.

Thank you.
