default
Posted on Wed, 16 Aug 2017
Question: My eight year old son has been running a low grade fever since July 21. He has no other symptons, although he did have a headache to begin with. I have been giving him Motrin and having him drink lots of water. What do you think? The fever goes away and comes back.

Brief Answer:
It seems to be viral fever.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post it seems that your child may be having viral fever.
I would suggest that you should get him clinically examined and investigated by his paediatrician.
I would advise that you should avoid giving Motrin.
Instead give paracetamol for symptomatic relief.
A clinical evaluation by the paediatrician will help in planning further medical management.
I hope this is helpful to you. If you have any further query, I will be happy to help.
Regards. Thanks.
