Brief Answer:
Lab tests reports needed...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am sorry for the situation your good friend is in.

1. Having diarrhea ongoing for 3-4 weeks at the age of 76 is indicative for:
- bowel infection
- malabsorption
- or even malign patoespecially if associated with bleeding

2. If your friend did not take adequate fluids while having diarrhea, the final result was dehydration and kidney failure.

You can upload the lab tests your friend did, so I can analyze myself and give a more specific answer.

Wish fast recovery!
