What Causes Consistent Red Spots On Back Of Child?

Question: my 10 month old daughter consistently gets small (dime to quarter size) red spots on her back mostly, sometimes one on her arm or leg. They are round but not symmetrical. slightly rough to the touch and we normally put A&D ointment on them and they clear up on a day or two. If not treated they get dry and flaky. Does this sound like eczema?

Thanks for the query

Raised erythematous scaly lesion on back is most likely eczematous lesion.
A&D ointment contains Vitamin A and D along with linolic acid which is good for skin lesion particularly dermatitis.
Although as per description it's appear to be eczema I request you to attach an image as skin lesions are best diagnosed by direct visualisation.
In case of eczema application of Mild steroid like mometasone helps.

I have gone through the images. Urticaria should be the first diagnosis.
The red raised lesions subsiding within 2-3 days can be urticaria or eczema.
Both are allergic reaction .Urticaria usually resolves within 2-3 days,while eczema is difficult to treat and needs to be treated with steroid.
I would suggest you to consult a physician for clinical evaluation and to diagnose exactly whether it is eczema or urticaria.

thank you so much, it doesn't look like the eczema I've seem on others. we have an appointment with our pediatrician this afternoon. is their a common cause for this allergic reaction? we have an old dog who pees on the carpet and we sometimes don't catch it. I have read this is very bad for babies but my husband thinks I'm overreacting.

No, you are not overeating at all.
The pets(their furs,shits)are one of the most common cause of household allergens.
House dusts(carpets are a good source),mites,smoke,perfumes and industries in surrounding area are other common causes.
That may be the reason of this urticarial rash.
The best management is to avoid the allergens.So you have to take steps regarding that.
