Question: My daughter is nine years old diagnosed 2 weeks ago with type 1 diabieties is now on insulin control has been complaining for last hour of chest pain not severe but uncomfortable sugar level 6.4 had a 20 g snack at 9pm and took blood at 10 pm considering she had a snack l feel it was low do l take her to a and e or not don't want to start panicking her as she is finding this hard as it is and adjusting to this new routine with injections etc

Hi...please go to emergency room. I am insisting on this because initially when on insulin there will be ups and downs which need to stabilized.

This pain might also be a tell tale or initial sign of diabetic ketoacidosis.
