Brief Answer:
Disc prolapse in lumbar and cervical region.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Your MRI scan shows a minor disc prolapse at the level of L3-L4 which is an age related degenerative change of the spine. It is not a serious or life threatening issue.
You are suffering from this problem at lumbar and cervical region. Due to this Disc bulge pressure occurs on nerve roots & radiation of pain and numbness occurs in that dermatotome. Physiotherapy like intermittent lumbar/cervical traction , back and cervical exercise reduces pressure of disc bulge for some time & gives relief.

The following measures will help with the pain
• Lie on a hard bed.
• Anti -inflammatory drugs like Tablet Motrin 1 tablet as and when required ( dont repeat a dose before 6 hours) with food. Taking oral muscle relaxants like Tolagin 4mg will also help. You can get it prescribed from your doctor. Rest of the medicines that have been given are correct and you can continue with these.
• Avoid forward bending.
• Correct your posture while sitting
• Avoid prolonged sitting
• Avoid strenuous activity & lifting heavy weights.
• Apply diclofenac gel on the affected area. Warm compresses will also help.
The complete cure of this problem involves regular exercise that you can learn from a physiotherapist. You can consult a neurophysician for proper guidance and treatment.
I hope this answers your query.

Brief Answer:
Details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The medicines are given to decrease pain and to make the nerves strong to decrease the nerve related pain. These will not reverse the bulging disc. The exercise will stop the further progress of the problem.
Surgery is done when pain is severe and there is acute disc prolapse. The problem progresses if no exercise is done.
Physiotherapy and muscle relaxants can reduce the disc bulge to some extent. In case there is no relief with medicines then surgery is the only option.
Hope my answer is helpful.
