What Causes Burning Sensation While Urination And Frequent Urination?

Question: Hello Dr,
Over two weeks ago when I went to the bathroom for the first time in the morning, there was an intense burning fire sensation when I urinated and the urine was a white cloudy color. The burning lasted for several minutes afterwards. I drank around 64oz of water throughout the day and it did not burn when I urinated after the first time. I just noticed that there was pain and pressure in my bladder area that did not subside. I started to get worried so I went to the immediate care two days later since the Dr.’s office was closed on the weekend. They did a urine test and said there were some leukocytes present. I was given Bactrim because the doctor suspected a bacterial infection. I took the Bactrim for 4 days and did not notice any improvement. Then I found out that there was no bacterial culture and that I could stop taking the Bactrim.
So after a week of still having pressure and pain in the bladder area, I went to see another prompt care since I was out of town. They tested my urine and it showed no leukocytes or bacteria culture. The nurse said my prostate also seemed fine from the digital test. They told me that they could not find anything wrong.
Now it is the third weekend, I have been drinking lots of water, taking cranberry extract with mannose and several home and herbal remedies. I’m taking probiotics to restore the balance from the Bactrim poison. I have been feeling better, but I still have a menthol-like sensation in my bladder and now there is a similar sensation that is across the entire lower abdominal area.
I can urinate normally, it does not hurt. Only in between and after urinating is there a strange feeling (it was kind of a slight itchy, tingling feeling, of the urethra around the head of the penis) and constant pressure in the bladder. It does not tingle anymore, but there is a weird almost hot feeling at the tip of the penis after urinating, but not during.
I can go throughout my day as normal and exercise, but the pressure is only the most noticeable when I try to go to sleep or sit for a while.
I haven’t been able to sleep throughout a single night since this happened. When I sit or lie down, the sensation in my bladder and abdomen gets stronger.
Can it be something other than bacteria? Could it be possible some kind of mold or fungus that I may have come into contact from dirty water or the bathroom that managed to get in my urinary tract somehow? Is this something that can heal on its own over time?
I’m starting to get really scared and I want to heal my body. Please help me. All the doctor’s offices are closed now it is the weekend and will not open until Tuesday due to a holiday. The only other option is to go to the emergency room to see anyone.

Brief Answer:
You have resolving UTI.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have UTI and it seems to be in a stage of resolution after taking antibiotics for almost 2-3 weeks.

The problem of frequency and discomfort at night seems to be due to over active bladder due to infection .
Please continue taking antibiotics for few more days along with urinary antispasmodics like Flavoxate This will help to control discomfort .

Ensure to drink more water. To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

There is no possibility of having any fungal infection

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,
I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Get your urine culture done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up.

Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefexine along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Three urine cultures have been done and all show no signs of bacteria.

I do urine tests here at my house with a digital pH meter and my urine is pH 7.4 as of ten minutes ago.

I'm going to continue drinking lots of water and take my multivitamin to keep my minerals from being depleted.

Thanks again,
