Question: I have a burning feeling in the vagina and used canestan suppository and cream. But the itching has not gone away.i have also used betadine wash. Not sure what?

Hello mam, I understand your health concerns.
I would like to ask what was the dose of clotrimazole in the pessary you used because canestan pessary comes in various strengths.
In my practice I usually prescribe 200 mg pessary daily for 3 days. And cream twice a day for seven days.

Thank you Dr .I used the one day therapy 0.5g on tuesday and since the itching hasnt stopped i used another same dose pessary last night.

200 mg pessary for 3 days

Detailed Answer:
In my opinion
-put a pessary of 200 mg daily for 3 days
-apply cream twice a day for 7 days
- use vwash perineal wash daily after taking bath
- wear a cotton based underwear and change it daily.
- do not apply anything like a deodorant or an antiperspirant in that area.
- use protection while having sexual contact with your partner.
Also get your blood sugar levels tested and in case abnormal visit a physician for further assistance.
