Posted on Mon, 7 Sep 2015
Question: Hi,
I have a burning and tingling sensation in my anus and vagina. It feels like a parasthesia i get in my hands and feel caused by apparent nerve compression disorder. Do u think this could be linked, i am worried as i also need to pass stools more often and when i wipe there are streaks of fresh blood. No discharge or odd smells. It feels like there is something inside my bottom and i feel sore after sex between my vagina and anus? I sometimes feel like i am constantly aroused due to the sensation
Thanks

Brief Answer:
You will need a physical examination by a physician to help you.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

Your combination of symptoms are unusual and will ultimately need a consultation with a physician to make an accurate diagnosis, but I want to go over your symptoms and discuss some of the possibilities of what may be the cause.

Paresthesias are generally caused by some type of nerve involvement. You said you have nerve compression problems in your hands, which originates in a problem with your spine in your neck. If you have similar symptoms near your rectum, you may have similar problems in your lower spine.

However the most concerning part of your symptoms is the bleeding from your anus. Many conditions as simple as hemmorhoids or as dangerous as rectal cancer can cause bleeding with bowel movements, so this symptom in particular is very worrisome.

I suggest you see, instead of a GYN, a colon or rectal specialist. They will perform an examination and possibly refer you for a test called a colonoscopy, which is a camera that can look into the rectim and intestine to look for problems.

I hope a rectal specialist can help you make an accurate diagnosis. I wish I like be more helpful but your symptoms are unusual and may require a few physician examinations to pinpoint the diagnosis.

I hope my advice was helpful and if you need any clarification please do not hesitate to contact me further.

Sincerely, Dr. Brown

Best wishes, Dr. Brown
