What Causes Bumps Outside The Vaginal Wall?

Question: Hi,
I am a female age 25 and have been on birth control (Minastrin) for over 6 months now .
On September 9, three or four days after having sex with my boyfriend, I was feeling a little bit weird and took a magnifying mirror and a flash light and did a self-examination (It was my first time ever to do a self examination with a magnifying mirror and lights so I was nervous). To my horror, I noticed one tiny bump on the right side outside of the vagina and another bump just exactly opposite on the left side that looked like it was cut a little with a speck of blood. They were soft to the touch, flesh-colored and looked more like a little skin tag. I've spent weeks till now researching online, stressing, crying and looking at options as to what these bumps might be.Everything about STD possibilities came up. I initially came to the conclusion that it might be genital warts. I was horrified that I had HPV which could be a lifetime thing and did more searching and stressing. I was sure I had HPV. I had no symptoms of itching, burning, pain, redness, foul odor, or increased discharge whatsoever that could comply with symptoms of a Genital HPV situation. I was just surprised and shocked about the two little bumps and more surprised that one of these bumps looked like it had been cut (probably from that night of having sex). I didnt have money to go see a doctor so I joined HPVsupport.com online and read about personal challenges, treatments, and success stories of people living with Genital HPV. I concluded that there were a lot of people who had more severe cases with multiple warts and I could easily get rid of the two warts i had (by cutting), stop stressing and live a healthy life to keep the virus at bay. I sterilized a small sharp scissors in hot water for 20min, had a shower, got my magnifying mirror and managed to cut the bump on the right off (it didnt hurt as much as I thought it would). I planned on cutting the other one after a week or so and also to test if it would grow back like a GW would. Through the stressing and everything I ended up catching a terrible cold/flu that bed-rid me for almost a week. I thought for sure that the next time I took a magnifying mirror down there that there was no doubt that I would find multiples of warts because my immune system was compromised greatly with that cold and stressing at the same time. But now that I have fully recovered from that cold, i decided to do another self examination and found that the left bump was still there (no change, no growth, no multiples) and the one on the right which I had cut before healed over and seemed like it had never been there to begin with. I was thankful yet confused. THEN WHAT DO I HAVE GOING ON DOWN THERE????? I did more research. The little bumps seemed to be right around the area where the Bartholin gland ducts are located. Could those bumps actually be my bartholin gland ducts?? Is it normal for some ducts to look like little skin tags??...I dont know if i ever had those bumps there before because i have never self-examined myself like this before...and also, I CUT ONE OFF!!!!!! what happens now??? will I be experiencing some side effects of prematurely cutting a Bartholin gland duct off????? I AM TERRIBLY CONFUSED NOW AND LOST and FREAKING OUT!!! I know i was stupid not to go to a gynecologist in the first place but Im saving money to go to one ASAP. Please, I just desperately need some reassurance and advice so I can sleep at night. Thank you so much for taking the time to look over my case.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I completely understand your concern for the bumps outside the vaginal wall and the possibility of HPV or any related issue in the same.

I have gone through your complete query with diligence and can make out your level of stress. As per your description there can be multiple possibilities and HP is not the alone issue on the area. As you tried to cut and it didn't caused any pain so the possibility of HPV is less likely.

Even then to diagnose the exact entity and to guide you best regarding your bumps I humbly request you to kindly send few good resolution pictures of the affected area. I request yo to send good resolution pictures in proper light so that these can be seen in higher magnification.

For the same you have a feature on the right side of the page to upload the pictures.

Hope to hear soon form your side.
