Posted on Fri, 24 Oct 2014
Question: hi, i had sexual intercourse with a prostitute about a 6weeks ago, i did use a condom whole time, it was for very short time. After that i didn't face any problems for days until today. I got a something of pimple or bump on my genitalia. It doesn't hurt, and i am not experiencing any pair or different feeling during urination either, also there have NO incident of any kind of discharge. I, though, have tendency to not to take a bath for couple of days. What can be the reason for the problem?

Brief Answer:
Might be a hair follicle infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Even with condoms, any pimple like eruption can be warts or herpes if you have had sex with a prostitute in recent weeks. However this is often accompanied with itching in case of warts and if it is paining then herpes can be the reason.

Since you do not have itching or pain, the possibility of hair follicle infection might be considered. This can be treated by application of neosporin ointment on the pimple. Please do not try to squeeze the area with fingers to avoid severe infection.

This kind of infection can occur due to sweat formation as you have said that you take bath once in two days. I suggest you wash you genital region with warm water twice daily and wipe it dry.

If there is no relief after application of ointment for one week and if new symptoms develop then please consult your doctor.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
