Brief Answer:
It is possible that it could be herpes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic,
Herpes genitalis is a viral infection which is sexually transmitted. It usually presents as painful grouped blisters on the genitalia after 4-5 days of an unprotected sexual intercourse. These blisters burst and form shallow wounds and usually heal in 1 week's time. It can also be associated with painful urination. If you want to find out whether you had genital herpes, you may do a blood test HSV 2 IgG and IgM. As you were having periods there is a high chance of missing lesions even if it was there. Yes it is possible that you had herpes, but not for sure.

The description of bump with yellowish discharge is more like a boil/furuncle which is a bacterial infection.
I will be happy to answer any further queries you have.

please tell me more about the boil. i had no more bumps appear after that one. after the antibiotics for the strep and uti the burning when peeing disappeared. i know i have a yeast infection and it explains the extra itching and occasional burning. the depo shot was the only reason i was bleeding and has now stopped

Brief Answer:
Boil/Furuncle bacterial infection of hair follicle

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome back.
Boil is a bacterial infection of the hair follicle. It starts as a painful swelling around a hair and gradually enlarges and will have a yellow pus pointing center. Most of the time it heals spontaneously. It heals faster when the pus is drained and also with antibiotics.
It is more likely that you had a bacterial urinary tract infection along with boils and not Herpes. But if you ask me whether herpes is possible then I can only say yes. You may wait and watch as Herpes usually recurs later.
Hope this helped.
Take care.
