What Causes Bulging Eyes?

default
Posted on Tue, 6 Sep 2016
Question: My son had an anoxic brain injury 20 years ago. He functions well, but he has developed bulging eyes over the last few years. Does this have anything to do with that, or what could have caused this/

Brief Answer:
Get him examined and investigated as advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Bulging eyes may be due to hyperthyroidism, intracranial space occupying lesions.
You need to get him examined by a neurologist.
This is not due to anoxic injury in childhood.
Blood investigations for Thyroid profile should be done.
Brain imaging should be done if suspected.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Do get back to me for further queries.
