What Causes Brown Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Postinor-2?
Question: Helo... I had sex 3days after my Period and took 2tablets of postinor2 the next day. I started bleeding dark brown blood,low flows 7Days after I took the postinor2 and have been bleeding since then. I complained to two doctors but they said it would stop. I am worried because this is the 10th day I have been bleeding. What should I do? Please help.

Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:
1) You did sex in SAFE period and took TWO tab of Postinor-2 on next day. It will give extra protection. Here, you have NO chance of pregnancy.
2) Brown bloody discharge is basically withdrawal bleeding due to effect of the pill. It is quite COMMON and physiological phenomena. Most women get this type of bleeding after taking the emergency pill. It will stop automatically within 2-5 days WITHOUT further medical treatment. Just maintain genital hygiene properly.
3) If bleeding is heavy or persistent, then I suggest you to take TRANEXAMIC ACID group of drug (twice daily for 3 days) to arrest bleeding. It is more effective.
