What Causes Brown Spots On The Back Of Scalp?
Question: Good Evening,
I am a 33 year old male, italian decent and medium color skin. Blue eyes and lighter brown hair. I have several small light brown spots on the back of my scalp. They do not hurt, itch or bother me however they are quite unsightly. I originally thought it could be tinea versicolor, since I have had break outs in the past but the shampoo and micatin cream is not fixing the issue. Please informa me as to your thoughts. thank you.

Freckles are small light brown spots which are extremely common and are not a health threat. They are more often seen in the summer, especially among lighter-skinned people and people with light or red hair
Causes of freckles include genetics and exposure to the sun.
Since freckles are almost always harmless, there is no need to treat them.
As with many skin conditions, it's best to avoid the sun as much as possible, or use a sunscreen with SPF 50.
You may consult a dermatologist if there is no improvement with the sunscreens, with laser therapy they may be easily removed.

Im not sure when they began appearing but I noticed them about a year ago. They are only on the back of my scalp no where else on my body.
