default
Posted on Fri, 11 Apr 2014
Question: 2 month granddaughter having breathing, she snorts and has a lot of nasal congestion and feeding problems ENT said it is probably a soft palate, and would likely clear up. She is also suffering from bad skin rashes that do not clear up with formula changes. She may have been a couple of weeks premature. The Drs say she will out grow these things but I have three children and seven grandchildren and have never seen this before.

Brief Answer: clear nose and throat. zinc oxide based cream Detailed Answer: Hi, thanks for using HCM. I went through the query and understood your concern. Because of the cold and nasal congestion usually baby will suffer from difficulty in feeding, breathing problem or grunts while breathing. Since at 2m age, children cannot breath through mouth, clearing nose if any secretion and if the secretion is more then using antihistamines will help in solving the all the problem. Usually this will clear with time. If any fever or infection then antibiotics will be required. So before feeding if the nose and throat is clear there won't be any feeding problem. About skin rashes, if only little rash then no need to worry, keep the skin dry and clean. If more rash then continue the above measures and you can apply zinc oxide based cream. That will solve the problem. Always remember to change clothing if wet. Keep the baby dry and clean. I hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask if any further queries and I will be glad to answer them. Wish you and your family a very happy life and good health. Regards
