What Causes Body Itching?
Question: Hi, my mother has been suffering from itching for the past 2 months. It is getting worse and we don't know what else to do. We have changed medication, seen a dermatologist. She has also been using various creams to ease the pain.

Generalised itching in her age could be due to extreme dryness, eczema, systemic disorder( liver/kidney/thyroid etc). Other causes could be fungal infection, scabies etc.
I would appreciate if you could send me some pictures of her affected area. In the meanwhile she should use a mild soap like cetaphil to bathe and should use a good intensive moisturiser multiple times in a day to keep her skin supple and hydrated( cetaphil dam). She may take tablet levocetrizine twice in a day and apply steroid cream( antroquoril) twice in a day for better control of itch. As she had pain( probably nerve pain) thats why lyrica or pregablin was prescribed. I would like to know the composition of prenniadril as its not available in my country and google search did not yield any result. Also if possible please upload your dermatologist's prescription.
