What Causes Blurred Vision Along With Loss Of Focus And Heavy Breathing?

Question: Sunday I attended a recital. Before the concert started I had been talking to a friend behind me and when I turned back to face front, my vision was blurry, nothing was in focus. I closed my eyes and when I opened them again they felt like they were crossed or one was crossed because I could not see anything as it should be. I took a deep breath and tried I turned my head left and right and when I opened my eyes things were back in focus. I have not had another incident since. Do you know what happened?

Brief Answer:
It seems a transient not dangerous event- see below for more explanation

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for asking at healthcaremagic.

I carefully read your question and understand your concern.

When we have quick head movements it might cause us some problems with vision as it takes a while for the eyes to align again. There is a connection of head movements and eye movement that helps us have good vision when we move our heads. When we do quick movements this connection takes a while to work well.

I would say that if you don't have other symptoms like vertigo, headache, neurological symptoms like weakness or numbness in limbs, no problem with speech or swallowing and especially if that episode does not repeat again, than there is nothing to worry.

I hope this answers to your question but please feel free to reply to this message if anymore clarification is needed on this.

Kind regards,

Antoneta Zotaj, MD
