What Causes Bloody Stool When Diagnosed With RA, Diabetes And High BP?

default
Posted on Tue, 13 Jan 2015
Question: I'm 66 years old, female, with RA, controlled diabetes and high BP. This morning my first bowel movement had lots of blood (bright red) in it. I feel fine. Even the inside of the commode had blood splatter. Should I wait to see what my next bowel movement is the same before I call my doctor? What could be the cause?

I had a colonoscopy less than a year ago. Nothing showed.

Brief Answer:
I think you should get an appointment for examination...

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query. Noted all the history about RA, DM, BP.

The most probable cause of bright red blood in the bowel movement with spatter of blood in the commode is usually hemorrhoids (piles). There looks to be no pain (as you have not mentioned).

You have said you are fine, there looks to be no other symptoms, Colonoscopy less than year ago was normal you can certainly wait.
But as a matter of fact you can definitely call your Doctor and get an appointment to get the Proctoscopy / Anoscopy done to get a confirmed diagnosis and management.

I hope this answers your query, please feel free to ask for more or if you feel there is any gap of communication.
